A Little About Me | Award Winning Wedding Photographer
When I was planning my wedding over 10 years ago, it came to picking the photographer and there was so much choice and so many different styles. I knew I wanted great photography but I also wanted to know a little bit about the person photographing my wedding, so that inspired me to write about… me!
It’s not often I get on the other side of the camera but here is me, as usual dressed in something to keep me warm and still with a camera in hand, yes my family do moan at me for that and tend to pull funny faces at me when I try to take a photo. Talking about clothes, it is important to me that I blend in with your guests on your wedding day so I usually wear a smart suit or waistcoat with a nice dash of colour in the shirt and tie.
This photo was actually taken at Hazlewood Castle on a photography development course. I do like to ensure that I am up to date on the latest skills and techniques, this helps me to keep at the top of my game and ensure that I capture the best shots on your wedding day.
When I have some free time, I enjoy playing board games, something like Catan or 7 Wonders. I enjoy strategy games and I think it helps me with planning and managing my time which is only a good thing when you run a photography business. I love taking time out and walking through the countryside or around an old English Heritage castle, it is much more acceptable to have foam sword fights now I have two little girls to duel with.Award W
Talking about family, here is mine and they are brilliant. My lovely wife Lauren and my beautiful daughters Emily & Charlotte. Lauren is my best friend and also the person who isn’t afraid to tell me the truth, this pushes me on and helps me to strive to be the best that I can be. Emily is my little delight, she warms my heart as she grows day by day. She just chatters away now and doesn’t stop and really makes me appreciate the little things in life. Charlotte, is our most recent addition and have brought us lots of joy. We look forward to watching her grow up. We also have 2 cats, Tyndale and Jess, both of whom enjoy mischief and Emily enjoys being in charge and telling them off.
Living in Hull is fantastic, it is such an underrated city and the people here are really friendly. I think that was strengthened in 2017 when we were the City of Culture, the events and unity of the city was just brilliant. I enjoy taking photos in Hull and at the special events, here are a few…

Being an Award Winning Hull Wedding Photographer and also doing portraits does not give me much spare time but when I do get it, I like to attend photography courses to improve my knowledge, I do landscape photography, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and I love a good superhero movie or anything to do with Star Wars and watching with a nice cup of coffee is just perfect. I visited one of my favourite places, the Lake District recently to do some Landscape photography and it was fantastic to capture some of my favourite iconic scenes.
